Description
The green pads (nopales) and bright pink fruits of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia spp.) were a valuable food source for native tribes of the United States, especially in the Southwest. In this special class about this excellent wild food source, you will learn about the nutritional content, and how to identify, collect and process them into delicious food and drinks.
This class will be held at the beautiful Prairie Haven located in Graham, Texas (about 1.5 hours west of Fort Worth). This property is the home of the SkyEarth Outdoor Skills Gathering, and is an ideal location for learning outdoor skills of all types.
When: Saturday, June 27th at 3:30pm-5:30pm
Where: Prairie Haven Texas, 4139 FM 1287, Graham, Texas 76450
Price: $30 per person
I am also teaching a class on Wild Mesquite Processing earlier on the same day, at the same location. If you want to come out for the day and get a deep dive on both of these amazing plants, this is a great opportunity!
